Bridging the Industrial Gap, FISIP UINSA Explores Global Collaboration with JANZZ.technology Switzerland
The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya continues to demonstrate its commitment to expanding students’ career horizons internationally. This concrete step was demonstrated by a strategic visit from JANZZ.technology, a renowned Swiss technology and consulting company, on Friday (December 19, 2025). The meeting, held in the dean’s meeting room, marked a crucial milestone in efforts to bridge the gap between the academic world and the realities of the global job market.
Present at the visit was Mr. Stefan Winzenried, CEO and Founder of JANZZ.technology. He was accompanied by Hesti Aryani (Senior Business Manager) and M. Ainur Rony (Senior Project Manager Indonesia). The presence of the company’s top brass, which was founded in 2008, was warmly welcomed by the leadership of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of UINSA, as a progressive first step for the faculty.
Representing the Dean, Deputy Dean II of FISIP UINSA, Dr. Aniek Nurhayati, M.Si., led the discussion. She was accompanied by strategic representatives from the study programs, including the Head of the International Relations Study Program, Rizki Rahmadini Nurika; the Secretary of the International Relations Study Program, Nur Luthfi Hidayatullah; the Secretary of the Political Science Study Program, Ajeng Widya Prakasita; and the Secretary of the Sociology Study Program, Masitah Effendi. The presence of these study program leaders emphasized that the collaboration discussed would touch all levels of scientific disciplines at FISIP.
Disruption Challenges and AI-Based Solutions
In his presentation, Mr. Stefan Winzenried highlighted the disruptive phenomenon that is rapidly changing the job landscape. According to him, the main problem facing college graduates today is the significant skills gap .
“The world is changing much faster than curriculum updates. This creates a gap between what is learned in the classroom and what is needed by industry. One possible solution is to prepare students for a solid future career through a technological approach,”
Stefan said before the FISIP leaders.
JANZZ.technology introduces an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based digital platform specifically designed for professional career development. This platform is not just a job market, but an ecosystem that ensures the educational curriculum remains relevant to today’s skills . Its featured features include personalized career guidance, language skills development, and a success measurement system based on students’ track records or digital portfolios.
Opening the Gates of the International Job Market
One of the most crucial points in this exploration is the opportunity for FISIP UINSA students to directly access the global job market. With the integration of JANZZ technology, students will not only compete locally or nationally but also develop a professional profile that meets industry standards in Europe and other parts of the world.
Dr. Aniek Nurhayati expressed great interest in this collaborative proposal. She emphasized that FISIP UINSA has a significant responsibility to ensure its graduates are absorbed into the workforce according to their respective competencies. However, she also underscored the importance of technical clarity in implementing this program to ensure it is on target.
“We are very enthusiastic about the vision brought by JANZZ.technology. Our current focus is on how this technical scheme can be integrated into students’ academic lives to provide real added value when they graduate,”
said Dr. Aniek.
Responding to this, Hesti Aryani explained that the first step would be the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Furthermore, the collaboration scheme could be implemented in various forms, ranging from new student orientation sessions for early introduction to career paths to intensive work preparation for graduating final-year students. JANZZ.technology also expressed its readiness to help strengthen students’ soft skills to address any gaps that may be identified.
The lengthy and productive discussion resulted in several concrete follow-up agreements. First, the development of professional career profiles for FISIP students to ensure their competitiveness. Second, plans to develop special courses focused on student career development. Finally, a strong commitment from both parties to build a joint digital platform as a means of developing sustainable potential.
JANZZ.technology’s visit to the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at UINSA is an important symbol that higher education must move synergistically with advances in digital technology. The significance of this activity lies in the faculty’s serious efforts to provide future security for its students amidst global economic uncertainty. International collaboration is key to opening the door to broader opportunities. With the right partners, FISIP students at UINSA are encouraged to become global talents ready to meet the challenges of the times. (ASE)
